2. ALFRED F.2 WAY
(ANTHONY1) was born December 10, 1872 in Shoals, Indiana, and died
November 07, 1957 in Kalmazoo, Michigan. He married CLARA MINNIE STEELE 1899 in
Bedford, Indiana, daughter of MOSES STEELE and MAHALA WHITE. She
was born September 09, 1876 in Spartansburg, South Carolina, and died July 1928
in Kalmazoo, Michigan.
REV. DR. ALFRED F. WAY:
A self-made man with a vision and dedication
for excellence in education and Christianity. Alfred was a man of the
cloth and for many years was a traveling minister throughout the
southern part of Indiana where his family was well known. An ordained
Methodist Minister, he became interested in education and health. With
extraordinary management skills coupled with a never wavering vision of
what should be, the Methodist Church rewarded his dedication with an
appointment as the Chief Administrator of Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo,
Michigan. He was also appointed to the Board of Trustees of Albion
College in Michigan and served that institution well as a fund
raiser. An avid writer of poems and other subjects, he
authored a book of poems and short stories entitled "Highlights
& Shadows".

6. WAYNE WILLARD3
WAY (ALFRED F.2, ANTHONY1) was born October 27, 1906 in
Nashville, Michigan, and died April 14, 1964 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He married
DOROTHY WILMETTA LOCKWOOD July 1, 1932 in Coldwater, Michigan, daughter of
WILLIAM LOCKWOOD and MARY TRIPP. She
was born November 22, 1908 in Coldwater, Michigan.
WAYNE WAY:
For most of his life, Wayne displayed an
avid interest in automobiles, so when he graduated from Albion College
he enrolled at General Motors Institute of Technology. He met Dorothy
when they both were students at Albion College. Wayne became a salesman
for Warner Buick in Coldwater, Michigan. Harry Taylor, Bert Warner's
partner bought the Chevrolet/Oldsmobile Dealership and Wayne became
Sales Manager. When Harry retired Wayne and John DeNoyer bought
the business. In 1950 he left DeNoyer to establish Way Oldsmobile/Cadillac
Company. Wayne went on to become one of the most respected businessmen
in Coldwater. His reputation was one of integrity and outstanding
customer service. Unfortunately, he contracted Leukemia in his early 50’s
and passed away at age 58.

HUGH CLANCY:
Hugh Clancy was a prisoner-of-war in a
Japanese Prisoner-of-War Camp in Burma for over 6 years. A superb athlete
in track and tennis, Hugh, before and after the war was a English Literature
teacher and track and tennis coach for several years in Malaysia and
later in Hawaii.
