Welcome to my father and mother's family history page.  This site is devoted to the research and preservation of the genealogical history of Lloyd Graves Hill and Alice Helen Lafler.  It looks at their lives as well as their descendants and their ancestors.

At some point in each of our lives, we start to wonder who we really are, where we came from, and what our forebears must have been like. When I was a kid, a young adult, and then in my middle years, I recall hearing conversations, stories and incidents related by my parents, aunts and uncles, and grandparents about what life was like back then.  Relatives that I never knew except by name.  But I remember being fascinated by some of the stories and the characters starring in them.

A few years ago I decided to embark on the research and study of my family genealogy.  It has been a rewarding adventure full of discoveries, frustration and apparent dead ends.  But that is what makes the genealogy quest a never ending one. One discovery leading to another...then another...and another. You can not give up the search. You are hooked.
